A recap of the third Anyfolk show at Väsen Barrel Room on 1/29/25
Anyfolk No. 3 had us all piled into Väsen’s barrel room and overflowing into the hallways. And somehow, despite all the people, the room still sounded so resonant. Like a hall or a church, even.
When Isabel March sang about holiness and divinity being in the people and things that we love, I realized why this passion project has felt so important. It’s because gathering together and sharing space, songs & stories feels like what I wish church could have been. And maybe this thing we’re building together can serve a similar purpose. Maybe the grace, renewal, or mystery we sometimes seek is right here with us in the barrel room.
